NB: The local Labour party cannot help with casework. If you require assistance, please get in touch with your MP or local councillor. Emails to the CLP address will not be forwarded due to data protection regulations.

About

The Labour Party organises into regions, constituencies (CLPs), local authority areas, and branches.

CLPs, like Penistone and Stocksbridge Labour, are based on parliamentary constituencies, the electoral district for the MP. Penistone and Stocksbridge operates a General Committee (GC) structure for our meetings; all members may attend but only elected delegates can vote. Delegates are elected from Labour Party branches, affiliated trade unions, and socialist societies.

CLP meetings discuss political issues, plan local campaigning activities, and send motions and delegates to Labour Party Conference. They also organise speaker events, socials, fundraisers, and other member-only activities. CLPs also select MP candidates ahead of General Elections.

The elected officers of the CLP form an Executive Committee (EC) to handle day-to-day business and general running of the local party, which is accountable to the CLP.
