Marie Tidball MP
Dr Marie Tidball is your Labour Member of Parliament for Penistone and Stocksbridge.
Born in Dodworth, Marie and her family moved to Penistone, where she attended a local, state primary school, followed by Penistone Grammar School. In her late teenage years, she moved to Stocksbridge, before leaving Penistone Grammar to pursue a Law degree from Wadham College, Oxford.
Marie knows the value of world-class public services because she’s lived it: Marie is disabled, having had NHS operations at Barnsley and Sheffield hospitals which allowed her to walk.
Marie and her family live in the constituency.
She is deeply passionate about community, fairness, and equality.
The Tories don’t understand why community matters, why we need to maintain excellent, free public services. We know that they don’t understand why giving people from less-affluent backgrounds a chance to thrive is worth every penny. But I do.
