Vote Early, Vote by Post, Vote Labour
Election rules were changed in 2001, and now anyone can apply for a postal vote – they aren’t just for people who are ill or on holiday. You don’t need to give a reason, if voting by post is more convenient than getting to the polling station sign-up for a postal vote now.
Why should you sign up to vote by post?
- It’s convenient. Your vote arrives by post, and you can either post it back or hand it in at the polling station on polling day.
- It saves you time. Your vote arrives early, so you have about two weeks to vote – rather than 15 hours on polling day.
- It’s easy. You can register online at https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote – all you need is your National Insurance number.
If you can’t apply online, then you can print and post an application form back to your local electoral services team.
